About this activity

Did you know, that the Art Gallery of Ontario is actually one of the LARGEST art museums in the entire North America? In fact, it's so popular that nearly 1 million people visit every year!

Don't you want to join them and experience this iconic museum yourselves? Of course you do!

The collection at the Art Gallery of Ontario (or the AGO as it's known) is comprised of over 120,000 works of art - which is pretty impressive! These art pieces range from cutting-edge contemporary art which are sure to get minds thinking about what art really means, to significant works by Indigenous and Canadian artists and European masterpieces which not only can showcase art from various cultures, but also inspire!

The Art Gallery of Ontario also hosts wide-ranging exhibitions and programs, including solo exhibitions as well as acquisitions by diverse and underrepresented artists from around the world.

What's also great about the AGO is they recently launched a bold new initiative designed to make this popular museum even more welcoming and accessible. Back in 2019 they introduced free admission for anyone 25 years and under, meaning no matter where you are from or what your situation is, art is there for children to enjoy, and learn from.

With dining experiences plus a shop to pick up some items that will remind you of your time at the AGO, why not make a whole day of it and really embrace the wonders of the art world!?

There is no wrong answer when it comes to art, and experiencing art first hand allows kids to really challenge and inspire their thoughts, and opinions, and creativity! In fact, we might go as far as to say art is incredibly invaluable, and the Art Gallery of Ontario is there to give you the most art-tastic family day out ever!
