The Darwin Waterfront is a new, fresh destination for all families who want to relax, cool off with a swim, and enjoy time as a family, whether strolling in the sun or enjoying a family picnic! One of the experiences you can enjoy at the Darwin Waterfront is the Wave Lagoon. This is a safe, stringer and croc-free wave and swimming lagoon perfect for the kids!
As well as the shallow still water area for toddlers, the Wave Lagoon covers an area of 4,000 square metres and is great fun for every level of swimming ability as there is so much range of self positioning.
The lagoon depth varies from 2 metres at its deepest point with a slope to a depth of zero at the wet edge. The water is chlorinated salt and the lagoon has a concrete bottom.
The wave lagoon is capable of a range of 10 different wave variations up to 1.7 metres in height. The different wave types provide a range of experiences for all users and ensure the wave lagoon is suitable for the whole family, from boogie board riders to toddlers.
Waves run on a cycle with a ten minute break in between, and it really will feel like you are in the ocean!

There are a number of places to grab food in the waterfront, including South Asian cuisine, Mexican, Vietnamese, burgers, pizza, cafe and bar, bubble tea, and typical Australia including lamb shanks!
There is a FREE waterfront shuttle that links Stokes Hill Wharf, the Cruise Ship Terminal, residential apartments, hotels and various other Darwin Waterfront precinct locations. It operates between 11:30am and 2pm, then 4pm to 9pm.
There are plenty of places to enjoy shopping in the waterfront district before or after your swim!
There are plenty of healthy options across the eateries so you won't have any problems there
Parking meters can only accept up to 25 coins and do not give change or accept 5 cent pieces.
