Where are we going today?
Coffs Harbour's most famous "Big" icon would have to be The Big Banana! (Of course, we don't mean a real one!)
This need to see to be believed structure is located just north of Coffs Harbour on the Pacific Highway, 565 kilometres north of Sydney and 450 kilometres south of Brisbane is probably the most well known "Big Thing" in Australia. (there are more! The Merino, the Prawn, the Potato....go figure!)
The Big Banana has a ton of really fun attractions for the entire family!
The main feature is the water park, popular with families on those hot Aussie summer days. The Big Kahuna is exciting from the moment you begin! Watch out for that midway hump - let us know how it makes your stomach feel!
The little ones will love the Lil Splash Slide which can be used as a dry slide, or as they say, just add water!
And of course, the Big Hippo - one of the largest inflatable water slides in the WORLD! (It's over 3 stories tall!) It's pretty much as good as inflatable slides get! Kids over 3 will get a kick out of the 53m long experience!
Of course, it's not just the water park. There is an ice rink that you can take a spin around on, and an incredibly heart pumping Laserforce Arena. Making your way through swirling fog in the dimly lit area, you will take on this combat challenge with your team - armed with the latest in laser phasers!
If you fancy something a little calmer at the end of the day, there is a 36 hole mini golf course. Every hold is hand sculpted to make it super challenging!
The Big Banana...it's a bunch of fun!
How much does it cost?
- AdultsPay and Play. $16 water park. $14.50 ice skating.
- ChildrenPay and Play. $12 ice skating and watermark.
When can we go?
9am to 4:30pm. Individual session times for individual attractions.
Daily, except Christmas.
They do have school excursion options which encourage kids to actively participate in their various attractions, shows and experiences for both fun and educational days. .
There is a cafe on site where you can grab lunch and drinks to recharge before your next round of fun!.
Any Top Tips?
The Toboggan ride is certainly worth checking out!.
Can I get one of those?
It's the Big Banana - of course there is a gift and souvenir shop! There is also the tasty Candy Kitchen sweet shop, a fantastic Puppet Shop, and Sunset Lakes Nursery. You won't go home empty handed!.
Also do parties with a clever birthday club arrangement!.

There is more to this place than first meets the eye. The restaurant is fairly unassuming but the theatre and film presentation followed by self-conducted tour of the banana plantation, packing room and information area are excellent, and very informative. From the top of the stairs there is a great view of the coast and ocean. It is a wonderful place for children as well as adults. There is a well-stocked souvenir shop.

Had an awesome time! Absolutely enjoyed every minute of my time there. The prices are way better then I expected. I went for the theatre presentation and self-tour which was really informative and interesting. The tobaggo ride was exhilirating and fun. There is a nice cafe there too, where I bought a nice mouth-watering banana split. I also got some really nice scenic views from the skywalk. However, I would recommend to upgrade it a bit. The toilets need upgrading too, as well as regular cleaning. Overall though other then those small factors I...Read More

Great place to stop with the kids :)
Had a Bananas Photo
We had a great lunch shopped in the gift shop with reasonable prices. Grabbed lollies from the lolly shop and we were off again.
Next time we will stay longer and enjoy the tour and the park

The toilets looked like they had not been cleaned in over 1 week. There was a strong odour.
We had dropped in for lunch and a banana shake, and waited in a queue for 10 minutes to place an order, followed by over 20 minutes for the meal. When the meal arrived it contained the two drinks as ordered but only one of the burgers. So we asked where it was we were told the kitchen had closed at 2 pm...
I had to complain (loudly) to the manager to get the situation redressed and my partners lunch on the way.
All in all a distressing and unpleasant experience.
