The Australian Botanic Garden is the perfect place to visit with the family if you just want a relaxing day out in nature, surrounded by wildlife - certainly the place to be if you have green thumbs or nature lovers in the family!
It's a great break from an increasingly growing urban area, and so is a little bit of an oasis for your day!
The Australian Botanic Garden has over 160 bird species, and with woodlands, grasslands, lakes, and important fauna, making it a really important refuge for both wildlife and plants, so it's the perfect place for kids to learn about the environment, and why it's so important to protect it!
The gardens are filled with amazing wildlife, so make sure you keep an eye out! From swamp wallabies, to the wallaroo, and those little cuties like lizards, frogs, snakes and spiders - there is so much around you to just take in!
Did you know there is a chance to journey back in time at the gardens too? How about if we told you that there is a Jurassic Garden! Here you can experience Australian dinosaurs and megafauna next to plants that were actually important to them! How amazing!
Guided and self guided tours are available. Just pick up a map and brochure on arrival, and then you can plan how you want to spend your day.
There are also 2 mapped walking trails and a mountain bike trail available if you are feeling really adventurous!
