Where are we going today?

BOO! Don't be scared....much! Port Arthur Ghost Tours will take you on a journey to see another side of Port Arthur - the most haunted convict site in the entire country! Spooky!

As night falls, the lanterns will draw you in to hear tales of long, long ago....and some of those residents who still linger today!

Port Arthur Ghost Tours are a fun, and unique addition to your visit to the area. The history of Port Arthur is so fascinating, and a very important part of Australian history. This adds a bit extra to your history lesson!

You black-cloaked guide will take you through the streets, re-counting stories that have actually been documented. You will hear about spooky sightings, and unexplained mysteries of the past. They might even reveal strange occurrences during Port Arthur's history, and events that baffled even the convicts!

Did you know that there have been documented ghost stories associated with the Port Arthur area since 1870? Surely all those people can't be wrong! This was even when the prison was still in operation (which isn't surprising, seeing as over 1000 people died at the prison during it's 47 year history).

This ghost tour is a "must do" for visitors experiencing Port Arthur. What's great about these tours, is that the guides have exclusive access to the site (that's World Heritage listed!) so you won't be bombarded by other tours and crowds.

The tours are best for older kids due to the darkness and the content. If you have more mature younger kids, they might enjoy it but use discretion.

Port Arthur Ghost Tours are waiting....if you dare!

Went to Port Arthur for school camp over 10 years ago, we walked around in groups of the day time and took some pictures. Digital cameras were only just coming in, so disposable cameras are what we used. My friend had theilm developed and brought his pictures to school, to this day I cannot believe what I seen. Something that cannot be denied.. In the stone hall where there is a dummy on a chair to scare people, in the photo- to the side is a full color, yet transparent priest or someone of biblical significance, holding an open book and was looking...Read More

The place is magnificent and with any other guide it may have been better but we were absolutely rushed through the tour, no time for photos after each spiel and if you tried to take any while she was speaking, you got your head bitten off! Fairly rude in my opinion
I have done many ghost tours but the guide made it a poor experience which was so disappointing as it was a must do on my holiday to Tassie

This is a truly excellent tour, especially for those who believe in ghosts, of course!
I went on this tour some years ago in the middle of winter. It was a cold, very clear and still night. After a while on the tour we were led down to an underground operating theatre. When I was walking down the underground passage towards the surgeon's table I felt a tug at the bottom of my shirt. I initially thought nothing of it, but then there was a second tug so I turned a little as I thought someone was close to me. No-one was close to me. I then felt a...Read More

Completely gobsmacked even after all these years, it is my number one ghost story.

I then felt a third tug so I turned right around and found there was no-one close to me, at all. In fact, the second half of the group was at least 4m away from me. This was indeed a chilling experience! Bear in mind that I was wearing at least one jumper and a coat over my shirt. There was another experience about half an hour later when all of us sat down outside the (supposedly) most haunted house at Port Arthur and listened to the guide talk about that house. This house has no electrical wiring or light bulbs on its second floor but the top floor is sometimes internally laminated! The guide described how the gate at the front of this property would sometimes swing open or close for no apparent reason. After she moved on to another subject all of a sudden the gate indeed started moving. I immediately walked up to the gate and closely inspected the gate's hinges and frame but could find nothing that would cause the gate to move. Bear in mind that I am both a radio and optical technician and I inspect details down to 0.1mm in dimension. I would thoroughly recommend any normal, physically and mentally healthy adult to go on this tour!! I have been to many, many countries around the world and been on many tours. I can truthfully say this is one of the best tours I have ever experienced!
