Where are we going today?

NOTE: The IMAX is currently getting a makeover, and will re-open in 2019.

Kids, do you love the cinema? The magic of the movies, when the lights go down and that music starts...it's exciting isn't it!?

Well, if you want a REAL cinema experience, then the IMAX is for you!

Located in the popular Darling Harbour, you will find the WORLD'S biggest IMAX screen, which is over 10 times bigger than regular cinema screens!

The whole family can immerse themselves in a high tech visual experience, that will totally stun the kids!

Just a tip - don't sit too close to the front!

Did you think the cinema would be a place to learn too? Well, at the IMAX it is! There are lots of information on the website about how the technology actually works, so why not print some out, and fill them in before they visit, so they can not only watch the film, but know how it was done!

Films shown on the IMAX are different to the usual films you would see too - they are often epic tales of planets, and wildlife, and ancient lands, so kids can also learn about cultures, and the world, through these spectacular films.

So what are you waiting for kids! Why not have a cinema experience with a difference, and see the world in whole new way!

Crying babies. Jabbering couples that don't get out much. Sound system totally out-of-whack. Dark, underlit projection. Ghosting 3D. Management that doesn't understand what IMAX should look like. If you are a fan of great movie presentations, STAY AWAY. This place is a gift shop (The Alamo) first, concession stand second, and IMAX theater a VERY distant 3rd.

Great imax experience. Seats are roomy and comfortable. Sound and video are excellent, but just a bit overpriced.

Saw Pacific Rim there earlier today. No complaints about the theater, except for maybe the actual chairs. Should be upgraded to be a little more comfortable.

This place is a relic like the Alamo, except its not a landmark. It has potential if it were upgraded and played more than historical movies.
