Where are we going today?
What would a trip to the Tropical North Queensland be without...you guessed it! Crocodiles!
Hartleys Crocodile Adventures is one of the best places to see the crocodiles as well as other fascinating local wildlife in North Queensland.
They have over 2100m of timber boardwalks and pathways which will take adventurous kids and their families on a journey through beautiful woodlands and rainforests where you will encounter a host of wildlife. Birds, reptiles, insects and of course...those infamous snapping creatures we know and love!
Kids will get a lot out of the wildlife presentations they hold, where kids can hear, touch and even smell their way through these educational shows which feature cassowary feeding, a slippery snake show and of course, the crocodile farm tour and feeding shows. There is even a sweet koala feeding show.
There are lagoon cruises which depart 6 times a day, where for 25 minutes you get to sit back and relax on Hartley's Lagoon. Every seat has a great view, and you can get to know about all the wildlife with the commentary provided by the drivers. The crocs will be waiting for you!
Hartleys Crocodile Adventure doesn't just let you look at the crocodiles. Oh no! For those brave family members over 16 years old, you can FEED the crocodiles! You get a personalised guided talk with a senior crocodile handler, where you can meet and hold a juvenile Estuarine croc. You also get to feed the crocs yourself via a pole that you stick out over the water and wait for them to JUMP! There is only a maximum of 6 adults so make sure you book in advance!
Calm your nerves afterwards at Gondwana Gateway where you can learn why the animals of Australia are so different to animals across the rest of the world. Why are there no other animals like the kangaroo in Europe? Or Africa? The kids will love this fascinating journey of evolution - with a few surprises along the way!
Most areas of Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures can be explored independently, while others require special transport and/or staff supervision for safety reasons. But all areas can guarantee a family fun packed adventure in nature with incredible wildlife!

Had a great day at the park, and the staff have extensive knowledge of crocodiles. The shows were all fantastic and informative, the only sad reality is they're breeding crocodiles for their skin.
