A big thank you to Gordon River Cruises, we saw one of the most pristine parts of the planet. And we did it in style. The lunch provided was very good, the Smoked Salmon,Chicken Ham and Salad. Best day ever!We are not normally interested in tours but there is merit in this approach to tourism in the lower reaches of the Gordon River. magnificent area. The cruise was not cheap but the catering was excellent and it was good value. The glorious reflections in the waters of the Gordon River are images that we will treasure. We had a wonderful trip on the boat, scenery stunning! Well worth every cent. Buffet lunch was good and the guided tours excellent, staff friendly.

Thus must be on your list of Things To Do In Tasmania. Viait the millennia-old wilderness with guides who clearly enjoy their work and know it well. Time well spent.

This was a pleasant experience, but a bit over~priced. The staff were lovely and helpful, and it was nice to see people enjoying their work. The price included a great lunch with atlantic salmon from the fish farms we visited along with guided tours of historical and heritage listed areas. If you are trying to choose between the cruise or the railway, I highly recommend the cruise.
