Where are we going today?

Scenic trips down Gordon's River are not to be undertaken lightly with children, as they take around 5.5 hours, but there is always plenty of deck space for them to stretch their legs and it's easily both long and comfortable enough to accommodate a small person's nap after lunch while you relax.

They have full and comfort inclined facilities, informed commentary and a stop off at Sarah Island, once home to Australia's harshest convict settlement.

The cruise includes a chef prepared buffet lunch, and the boats themselves are very environmentally friendly, doing as little damage to their surroundings as is possible.

A big thank you to Gordon River Cruises, we saw one of the most pristine parts of the planet. And we did it in style. The lunch provided was very good, the Smoked Salmon,Chicken Ham and Salad. Best day ever!We are not normally interested in tours but there is merit in this approach to tourism in the lower reaches of the Gordon River. magnificent area. The cruise was not cheap but the catering was excellent and it was good value. The glorious reflections in the waters of the Gordon River are images that we will treasure. Thus must be on your list of Things To Do In Tasmania. Viait the millennia-old wilderness with guides who clearly enjoy their work and know it well. Time well spent.

This was a pleasant experience, but a bit over~priced. The staff were lovely and helpful, and it was nice to see people enjoying their work. The price included a great lunch with atlantic salmon from the fish farms we visited along with guided tours of historical and heritage listed areas. If you are trying to choose between the cruise or the railway, I highly recommend the cruise.
