Flinders Island Adventures is a proper island getaway for the family! Kids will love running along the beaches, checking out the wildlife, and getting among the bushland and even out onto the ocean!
Flinders Island is the largest of the 52 islands, and Flinders Island Adventures can be your guides through the mountains, and white sandy beaches. They can show you all the wild birds and teach kids all about the various species, as well as show you the incredible wild flowers and history of the islands.
If the ocean if more your cup of tea, they can take the family out fishing or cruising in one of the two 10 metre boats. Parents, you can rest assured that the skippers have many years of experience with fishing around Flinders Island. You can enjoy fishing either among the islands or out to the warm waters of the continental shelf, as well as surf fishing the east coast beaches.
Different times of the year allow you to target different fish. Spring sees the arrival of the Snapper and Kingfish, the summer months bringing the Yellowfin and Albacore Tuna in the warm currents and year round Sharks (but don't worry!), as well as Flathead, Salmon and Calamari. Pretty amazing!
With all of this, you wont have to worry about anything! They supply all the rods, bait and gear, and if you haven't fished before they can give you basics of catching those slippery fishes, and some tricks to help you!
They also have 4WDs which can take you fishing to the East Coast Beaches and The North East River.
If you wanted to explore a little further, why not take a cruise out to the outer islands too, allowing you to walk ashore, snorkel and see some of the extensive marine birdlife. They work out of the island's deep water port of Lady Barron, which allows them access to both sides of the island!
Flinders Island Adventures is also the Island's on and off road touring and guided walk specialists. You can take a 4WD tour to see the best the island has to offer, both on and off road!
If you want to keep your feet dry, they of course off walking tours (which are from 3 nights / 4 days) so if you wanted to extend your family day out to a few days and really get to know the islands, check out the options - don't forget those hiking boots and cameras!
