Where are we going today?
Get ready, raise those curtains...it's snow time!
Corin Forest Mountain Recreation gives those families in Canberra, Sydney and nearby areas an easily accessible option for a fantastic snow experience. They have alpine adventures for all!
Where to start! First, why not the Bobsled! They have a 1.2lm Bobsled Alpine Slide where you can watch the native forest blur past you at nearly 60km/hr - that's pretty fast! Of course, you can also enjoy it at your own pace, so don't be nervous about trying it!
This activity is for any age, and every rider over 8 can ride solo so they can have total control of the bobsled. Little ones you get to ride free with your paying adult!
The sleds are dual seat models so double ride away - sometimes it's even more fun when you get to experience it with somebody else!
What would a snow experience be without a toboggan or building a snowman? Their purpose built snow play area has a crazy cool snowmaking systems which provides snow cover all winter long! You can bring your own toboggan but they must be of a plastic mould. Otherwise you can hire them there.
Corin Forest Mountain Recreation also have dual 350m recreational flying foxes! They "zip wires" let you descend a crazy 36 vertical metres in about 18 seconds! Physics students - how does that sound to you!? They are the longest recreational flying foxes in the country. Parents, don't worry. You can be safe in the face that they cannot be detached from the safety wires so everyone over 6 years old can safely enjoy the thrill of the mountain air rushing on their face as they fly through the tall timber to the clearing!
What does melted snow turn into? Water! So it's only fitting that Corin Forest Mountain Recreation have a 100m water-slide in summer! Those water loving sliders have to be less than 1.7m, so kids you are okay but sorry parents, it might not be your day! The slide has 3 (yes 3!) big dippers, a 360° helix (do we even know what that is!?) and 4 very tight but very fun corners. The ending is a troff and not a pool. so unfortunately you can't swim there. But hey, it's not like you'll be short of things to do!
How much does it cost?
- AdultsFree entry, pay and play attractions. Snowplay $15. Single ride Alpine Slide $7.
- ChildrenSame as adult.
When can we go?

The Cafe overlooking the pond offers refreshments together with normal amenities. In winter the Cafe has a roaring open fire, creating a cosy atmosphere. Fun! .
Any Top Tips?
There are some fun walks to do in the area. 1.6km past the Corin Forest front gate is the start of a 7.5km walk to Square Rock. Here the walk climbs from the Corin Road, through granite outcrops, open grasslands and snowgums before arriving at Square Rock from which there are sweeping views of the Brindabella Ranges, the Cotter Valley and to Canberra. The round trip (moderate walking) takes approximately 4 hours. Pretty impressive! .
Many people actually come to Corin just to enjoy free access to the wonderful Australian bush setting. The grassy verges of a tranquil pond, formed on a permanent stream, is the perfect spot for picnicking..
