The Cafe overlooking the pond offers refreshments together with normal amenities. In winter the Cafe has a roaring open fire, creating a cosy atmosphere. Fun!
There are some fun walks to do in the area. 1.6km past the Corin Forest front gate is the start of a 7.5km walk to Square Rock. Here the walk climbs from the Corin Road, through granite outcrops, open grasslands and snowgums before arriving at Square Rock from which there are sweeping views of the Brindabella Ranges, the Cotter Valley and to Canberra. The round trip (moderate walking) takes approximately 4 hours. Pretty impressive!
Many people actually come to Corin just to enjoy free access to the wonderful Australian bush setting. The grassy verges of a tranquil pond, formed on a permanent stream, is the perfect spot for picnicking.
