Where are we going today?

Capricorn Coast Trail Rides are little adventures on horseback: come along with your friends and family for an exciting, feel good, outdoor adventure with happy, well trained horses.

Their trail rides are personalised and each horse ride is tailored to suit the group. From families through to those seeking adventure, they have one, two and three hour trails which ride over the foothills of Mount Wheeler. Each of the rides takes you to a look out over the region, where you will see volcanic plugs and catch a glimpse of the ocean.

The one family hour trail is great for all the family, it is a gentle ride with an option to walk or trot (the trot option depends on individual rider's ability). The ride passes through local bush up to a scenic lookout and then back to the Oaks Service Station. It is great fun for the whole family, even for those nervous parents who are first time riders.

Considerate staff choose a horse to match your ability and give you basic instruction before leaving the yards, children who require assistance are led along the trail by a staff member. Minimum age of 6 years.

Any Top Tips?

You are required to wear long trousers, enclosed shoes and they prefer that you wear tops which cover your shoulders for added sun protection. They provide you with a riding helmet and all their stock saddles are fitted with toestoppers, which are a device which prevent shoes from becoming stuck in stirrups..
