Where are we going today?

Experience an iconic part of Bendigo's history with these fun family tram tours - a great way to see the city!

Bendigo Tramways offer a range of tours that can introduce you to the history of not only the city, but also the history of the trams themselves!

Did you know that the trams were first introduced to Bendigo way back in 1890? Yep! However, back then they were electric, and as much as they were great for the city, after a few months the hills seemed to beat them! So then they were replaced with steam trams, and then electric in 1903.

Since then, they have always held a special part in the city's heart....and now you can experience them for yourselves!

Bendigo Tramways offer a number of fascinating and fun tours that will give you a pretty unique family day out!

The most popular and famous tour is the Vintage "talking" tram tour, where you sit back, relax, and actually let the tram do all of the talking! It will take you through all the sights and sounds of Bendigo. and entertain you with stories of the city that actually founded one of the richest goldfields in the WORLD!

Ever wondered where the trams are restored? The Depot & Workshop Tour is the best option for you then! You will be in awe at the country's oldest operating Tram Depot, home to a large number of trams - each with their own story to tell! Some trams have carried royalty, and some trams survived TWO world wars! Now THAT is impressive!

Have a look at the tours available, and you will find the perfect one for your family.

It's amazing what you will learn....from a tram!

We recently visited the Tramways Depot in Bendigo. The staff on duty were extremely helpful and their customer service skills were exemplary. The volunteers who spend countless hours restoring the trams are to be admired for their skill and dedication. It is reassuring to know that my grandchildren will have the opportunity to enjoy these Trams, well into the future. Thank you to all concerned for a pleasant experience. The mine tour you recommended was fantastic.
