Where are we going today?

The iconic Steve Irwin worked hard to teach the country and the world about animals, their nature, their conservation and how important they are to the planet.

And now you can see where it all started! Australia Zoo really is the ultimate wildlife adventure, which teaches conservation through exciting exhibits, experiences and education.

Fancy cuddling a koala? Do you think they will feel really soft perhaps? Or maybe you want to hand feed Asian Elephants! What sweet creatures! You can walk with a Sumartran Tiger, and watch giant crocodiles launch from the waters edge. They can go pretty fast!

The zoo is chock-a-block with lush green surroundings, with remarkable enclosures that enjoy they have the animals best interests at heart. The zoo take great pride in creating these exhibits and enclosures which offer luxurious, spacious, and natural areas for the animals to live, play and have fun in, as well as ensuring they are educational and exciting for guests to experience!

It's definitely worth checking out what live shows they have. They are pretty amazing and always cover different topics to try and plan your day around the shows you want. Kids will also want to set watched (or phones!) for the hand-feeding opportunities, which are posted about the zoo.

There are over 1000 animals living in more natural Australian bush-land than you can poke a stick at! There is stacks to pack into your day, and if you want to do something a bit unique, take a private tour so you won't miss out on any action! (And you will have your own personal guide to answer any questions!)

What an AMAZING experience! We traveled from the Gold Coast (2 hours) to spend the day at Australia Zoo and it was well worth the trip, the facilities were professional the premises immaculate, the shows didn't disappoint, and it was nice to see that commercialism hasn't overtaken Steve's vision for education and conservation. Tickets were well priced, food was both well priced and great quality of selection something I cannot say for the big amusement parks. Care has been taken to ensure the majority of the park is well shaded, which makes walking...Read More

Overall we had an excellent day at the Zoo. The staff were exceptionally friendly and very good at their jobs. The kids had a wonderful time. The only downside was the incorrect advertising of the age of children on their website. Despite the fact the website advertises the age of children as 3-14 years, when we got to the zoo the price i was first quoted for the 14 year olds was the full adult price. Of course it was reduced to the child's price as soon as I requested a manager and advised them I would not be coming in unless the girls were charged...Read More

What a wonderful place - happy animals, happy staff, great legacy for Steve Irwin. We really enjoyed the animal encounters - and the genuine caring the keepers had for their animals. The layout is beautiful, the landscaping and flow was great, and the wildlife hospital is full of such good people doing great work to help the injured animals in their care. Learned a lot from our visit. Thank you :-)

Care has been taken to ensure the majority of the park is well shaded, which makes walking around much more comfortable in the Queensland heat. Cannot fault a thing about Australia Zoo and I highly recommend it for kids and adults alike.

Of course it was reduced to the child's price as soon as I requested a manager and advised them I would not be coming in unless the girls were charged as children in line with their statements on the website. They seemed very familiar with handling objections since they capitulated very quickly but it is a shame we had to go through the routine in the first place as it could have put a damper on the whole day. I was also surprised that they went straight from the child's price to adults, the student price was not even mentioned to me. The trouble with the admissions is what prevents me from giving a five star rating because it is a problem they seem to be aware of yet refuse to correct on their website.
