    I had stayed with my family at The Park Hotel, Chennai from the 3rd evening to 7th morning of January 2015 to attend my cousin’s marriage function. We had 2 rooms which was complimentary from our host (my cousin’s family). During check in the receptionist had asked my dad for his credit card. We enquired why the credit card was needed and he said it was for “safety”. He scanned the card and assured us that without prior permission or approval no amount will be debited from the card. After 4 days when we checked out from the rooms, we asked the receptionist at the lobby on how much we are to pay for room service. He said “Let me verify with the host” and after a while told us that we need not pay anything. My dad still asked how much is the estimate of the amount for our rooms alone. He replied “Sir, it goes to the common pool and will be paid by the host. No problem, you may leave” and we drove back to our native city.After 10 hours my dad got a message that an amount of Rs. 9,900 has been debited from his card on behalf of the park hotels. He immediately called his bank manager and requested him to block the card. They had misused the credit card by debiting money without any consent from us. My dad wrote an email to the hotel authorities explaining the situation and they told us that the amount was payable by us and instead apologized for not having informed us at the time of checkout. It is not a matter of paying the amount, we are aware that we spend a good deal on room service and my dad was more than willing to pay if it went beyond a limit that it burdened our host i.e. his sister. The issue is that the hotel management had misused the card. My dad tells me that the failure of the receptionist to give the estimate for our rooms shows that they will show an incremented amount to our host as well. It is pathetic on how the hotel management treat its customers by backstabbing them.

    The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at and, considering the price, a downright disgrace! The service is non existent – we weren’t even shown how to access our room until they noticed us walking around the lobby trying to figure it out. We were explained nothing about the package we had booked. The pool facilities were unavailable due to them having a function, which we hadn’t been told in advance (the pool being one of the reasons the hotel was booked). We asked to leave and were told it was not possible as we’d booked online so would still be charged and there was nothing they could do about this as they couldn’t contact the booking department, even though we had booked directly with Park Hotels. They couldn’t even offer a discount. Finally they offered some free services (massage and wine) neither of which we would have paid for anyway and which certainly did not compensate for the awful experience we had to endure. The awful service continued throughout the whole stay with there not being a third bed in the triple occupancy room we had booked, and there only being two of everything (towels, water etc.). The bed, when it finally arrived, was just a pile of springs and extremely uncomfortable. The restaurant, which we were told we were able to eat in at 7pm was again sub standard. We arrived and were not seated to a table until after 10 minutes of standing and waiting and the buffet style food was not ready until 8pm. We had to keep checking to ask if the food was ready as they did not keep us updated as to when it was. The food was mediocre and barely warm and we had to rush the meal as we were told to be in the bar by 8:30pm or we would face charges. Thankfully we made it to the bar before we had to pay entrance as that again was poorly staffed. Service was slow and cocktails were extremely over priced considering their poor quality. An awful experience from start to finish.

    One Hell of an experience*Horrible staff management*750 rs for a 24 hr wifi with just 1 device connectivity*first hotel which we had ever visited with a bathroom having no faucet*overly priced dining service*overly priced room service*There ‘deluxe’ room is just like any normal single occupancy roomIt’s like an overly priced 3 star hotel that looks goodConclusion -Don’t judge a book by its cover

    People who stayed in Park group anywhere else.. you will be in for a disappointment.Having Stayed in Park Hyderabad.. i will rate this one.. below average.Room sizes are small. Had a buffet at midnight from their restaurant.. Mediocre spread.. highly priced…!!Another reason.. i met a group of pilots in the elevator, regular guys… who is forced to stay there every time they fly by Bangalore.. who rated their service as pitiful and wondered why their airlines is not taking action after repeated complaints.
